About the Scheme

What is PM-KUSUM?

The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) is a flagship scheme by the Government of India to help farmers install solar pumps and generate income from surplus solar power.

Under this scheme, farmers can replace their diesel and electric pumps with solar pumps at a fraction of the cost, thanks to substantial government subsidies.

Component B: Standalone Off-Grid Solar Pumps for individual farmers with up to 60% subsidy.

Eligibility Criteria

✅ Who is Eligible?

Farmers with Agricultural Land

Any farmer owning agricultural land in Tamil Nadu can apply for solar pump subsidy.

Aadhaar Linked Bank Account

Must have a valid Aadhaar number linked to your bank account for subsidy transfer.

Agricultural EB Connection

Existing or new agricultural electricity connection applicants are eligible.

❌ Not Eligible If:

  • Already have a solar pump installed under any government scheme
  • Non-agricultural land usage (commercial or industrial)
  • Land not registered in applicant's name
  • Previously received subsidy under same scheme
